What is the dress code in Saudi Arabia? Are abayas still compulsory?
Since 2019, it is no longer compulsory for women to cover their hair and wear an abaya in Saudi Arabia, but modest dressing is a requirement to respect their culture.

Working In UAE

What is the dress code in UAE?
While there is no official dress code, modesty is appreciated, and it is best to dress conservatively when going out in public.

Can I drive a car?
In the UAE, both men and women are allowed to drive. As long as they have a passport and an international drivers license, visitors to the UAE are permitted to drive.

Is it acceptable to smoke cigarettes in the UAE?
At some locations in the UAE, smoking is permitted except for Sharjah. Smoking has been prohibited in enclosed public spaces since 2008 (e.g., malls, restaurants, offices, cafeterias, hotel lobbies, etc.).

Is it legal for me to bring alcohol into the UAE?
Yes. Except for Sharjah, which is a “dry” emirate, you can bring one alcoholic beverage into the UAE.

What is the language used in hospitals?
Although English is the main language at the hospitals, there is a lot of diversity in the hospitals and people come from all over the world, so English may be a second or third language for many of them.

What is the COVID-19 status in the UAE?

What is the dress code in Qatar?
Visitors are not required to wear traditional Qatari attire or to be fully clothed. While there is no specific dress code for foreigners, everyone is encouraged to wear modest and conservative clothing that is both comfortable and not overly revealing.

Can I drive a car?

The legal driving age In Qatar is 18. If a person is over 19 and has a residency permit, they are both eligible to purchase an automobile.

What is the dress code in Kuwait?
Modesty is, once again, a big requirement in Kuwait. Including, but not limited to, keeping shoulders and knees covered. Clothes should also not be too revealing or tight.

Can I drive a car?

Expats driving in Kuwait should exercise caution; defensive driving is always advised. On major highways, the speed limit is 75 miles per hour (120 kilometers per hour).

Is it acceptable to smoke cigarettes in the Kuwait?
Smoking cigarettes and hookah are prohibited in all public places in Kuwait, including airports, cafes, restaurants, shopping malls, and recreational areas. Amani Buresli, minister of commerce and industry, has ordered cafes, hotels, and restaurants to provide smokers with well-isolated areas.

Is it legal for me to bring alcohol into the Kuwait?
Kuwait allows no alcohol into their country, and even hotels and restaurants do not serve it. Privately drinking alcohol is not illegal in and of itself, and buying and/or selling alcohol, bringing alcohol to a public place, or being intoxicated in public places, including a car as a passenger, are all serious crimes.
